Rain, rain, go away............

It's raining, it's pouring;
The old man is snoring.
Bumped his head
And went to bed
And couldn't get up in the morning.

Rain, rain, go away;
Come again another day;
Little Fiona wants to play.

What a terrible day it is here today,
the rain hasn't stopped all morning.

  The garden is soaked so no point going out there....

What can I do?

Perhaps I should snuggle up on the sofa
and flick through my new fruit and veg book
and maybe get some ideas on
where I went wrong this year??

I bought some pretty cards in a tin during the week, they were pink so I couldn't resist!
I could write a few notes to friends overseas
(I never write to them, it is always email)
but today..........

 I have Captain Corelli's Mandolin on dvd so that should pass a few happy hours..........
OR should I sit down and do a bit of knitting........
What to do, what to do?

Methinks I should have a cuppa first and perhaps a nice piece of cake and decide exactly how to pass my long afternoon.
Maybe rain isn't so bad afterall!!!

What is your favourite way to pass a lazy afternoon?

:D There you are! I've missed you!

I think... knitting... and that movie! I've never seen it or heard of it, so thanks for the idea! On a rainy day I like to knit, or bake ... after I've been soaked in it! :)

Warm sunny hugs to you, Fiona!

Hi Fiona! Thanks for the lovely comments:) The weather has me driven mad as well. Sitting down with a cup of tea sounds lovely. Enjoy!

Fiona, you will never believe it but I've just put a post up with exactly the same title. Spooky or what. Or are we just having the same weather. It's yukky isn't it?

Whatever you do, you got lots of lovely things to choose from!! I vote for a little of each of those you mentioned here!! Sunny here today; they said rain, but so far no, so I'll enjoy the sun while I can!

enjoy the day!

The weather is pretty bad here isn't it?
It was flooded in many places.
Looks like you have some nice things there to enjoy while sitting indoors :-)
Have a lovely Saturday evening!

I think my favorite way to wile the afternoon away is seeing what everyone else is doing.

I had forgotten the first part of the rain,rain, go away verse. Fun to be prompted. Have a wonderful rainy afternoon. All your choices sound good.

Well, it's a rainy day here, too - but not as bad as yours, I think. And my brother is away, so I'm here with the cats. I'm baking bread http://www.thefreshloaf.com/lessons/yourfirstloaf

It's not my first loaf, but I want to go through these lessons without leaving out any.

Dusting the ceilings, mopping floors, vacuuming. And sewing more of my quilt binding, and much crocheting in between. I want to watch Pride & Prejudice again, but I keep getting sidetracked!

I vote for reading and napping on rainy days. I hope whatever you decided that you enjoyed it.
We have been having beautiful fall weather here in Minnesota, but we could use some rain.
Wishing you sunshiny days.

Oh I DO love the fact that you thought of actually writing instead of emailing. I so MISS writing! I used to be so excited to get the mail...now it's only bills. I need to start writing letters more often!!

Love to read or listen to plays on the radio. Mind you I did that yesterday and it was a lovely sunny day. Reading is so relaxing and transports you away without leaving your chair or rather deckchair!!!

I love the rain. It sounds and smells so nice and all of your ideas of what to do sound lovely! I would have the tea and a good read and that movie sounds nice too! So many wonderful ideas! I hope you have a beautiful day!

I like all your cosy afternoon options! Writing the cards is a great idea as everyone loves getting post with a handwritten address as you know that it is Not A Bill! Hooray! The allotment book is a good one, I have it on my bookshelf too.

Great post, although I'm sorry about all your rain. I love that DVD of Captain Correlli's Mandolin. So romantic! Love those little cupcake cards.

The DVD sounds nice. But on a day like today I'd curl up with a good book and settle in. ENJOY whatever you do.

I love to read and bake cookies when it rains. But then I eat the cookies. Which is not a good thing if it rains a lot. :-)
