eldest son has now completed his final exams, yippee!
Myself and younger son met him for lunch
and while strolling through the college grounds
he told us that it is believed
whoever looks up at the clock on the campus
before their exams will fail
well of course youngest son
(the one who starts exams next week)
stared straight up at that clock
oh dearie dearie me!
I eventually got around to cleaning
the copper bits and bobs in my kitchen
I would be embarrassed to tell you
how long it has been
since they have had a polish!
What made you smile today?
xoxo

Oh lovely that your one son has finished exams...as for his brother looking at the clock -- we'll just put that out of our minds (and his too) and wish him all the best!
What made me smile today? Being able to walk without my back hurting; sunshine; my younger son cooking the lunch today and my article appearing on another website!! Here is to another happy smiling day tomorrow!
Love your expression, bits and bobs! Your story made me smile !
I also smiled the entire time I got to visit with my 14 month old grandson via Skype today. He is a darling child and has a precious personality. Of course, I am prejudiced!
Glad your back is better. How, I RELATE!
Your post made me smile! :)
My family and the some of the blogs (including yours) that I have read today put a
smile on my face today.
Congrats to your son for mission accomplished. Hope the clock doesn't jinx your youngest. The campus there is lovely. take care.
Congratulations for your son, and for the younger one looking at the clock . . . it gave me a smile!
Here I am again, I like your writing entedfom the left.
Correction, entered from . . .
What a great feeling for your son to be finished his exams it is always a relief. As for your other son looking at the clock don't worry I'm sure he will do fine.
What made me smile today - having the day off work and the sun shining down on us. Glorious!!!!
Congratulations! Happy and proud mum! What made me smile today? My morning run and my flowers in the garden!
...teaching my unwilling English students about Hamlet! I had to promise them their would be danger, thrill and murder in it for them to listen to me. :)
It made me smile to see peonies blooming in the garden and a new post from you.
Congratulations! I got a raise today :) so pretty happy!
You must be a proud mom! Your post made me smile today. My son made me smile this morning when he mentioned he was taking a walk to the lake to check on Mama Mallard and her babies. Being that he's fifteen and thinking of the duck family really made my heart smile. :)
Ty miałaś powody do uśmiechu, bo syn zdał maturę. Ja nie mam dzisiaj dnia do uśmiechu, bo mi się zepsuł znowu aparat fotograficzny. Pozdrawiam.
You had reason to smile, for the son he graduated. I do not have today the day to smile, because I broke the camera again. Yours.
I had to laugh at your youngest son staring up at the campus clock before his exams!
I love your dresser, they are such warm and friendly things to have! I can see that copper positively gleam!
What made me smile today? I've just finished work for the week!
You made me smile Fiona. Your student boys, oh boy I have been there with my four boys, and believe me I threw out all my copper I just have one antique kettle left but I put that away so I can't see it. LOL
Have a nice week.
Great post, the copper is gleaming.
Congratulations to your oldest son on finishing his finals. Good luck to your other son on completing his (I hope looking up at the clock face won't bring a disasterous result on his finals-I'm thinking "studying' has more to do with the results). I've developed a real "liking" for tarnished brass, copper, silver--it is just too much work to keep them looking bright and shiny. Have a great weekend. Mickie ;)
Congratulations to your eldest son and good luck to your youngest.
My family and the flowers in my garden made me smile today.
Wish you a wonderful weekend.

Hi Fiona, congratulations to son no1 on finishing his exams and good luck to son no2 for his. I hope they both do well. As for what made me smile today ... I'm on a 3 week break from teaching so I've got a great big grin on my face!!
Take care

You made me smile by this post, Fiona. Is your youngest son going to challenge the jinx? I hope he’ll win. In my garden, roses are blooming lovely and the buds of hydrangeas are swelling, which made me smile, too. Keep smiling.

Fantastic photograph, beautiful places. Great post. I am greeting
Shiny copper is so pretty.
Today I am smiling because we got the garden in just before a good rain. I love your story and photos.
The exam season is very trying. Hopefully the bad luck only applies to students at the college so your son will be spared the horrors. Roll on the summer holidays:-)
Best of luck for the exams we went through this last year such a tough and stressful time for everyone.
