Christmassy January and Green Day!

I went back to work this week and so life is back to normal
well as normal as can be!!!

Doesn't time fly, it's like Christmas never happened!

This week we have had lovely frosty mornings and lovely evening skies...

I miss all my lovely Christmas decorations but the house still looks Christmassy as
I  have decided to keep the twinkly fairy lights on my kitchen cabinet
as they brighten the dark mornings and make me smile when I'm drinking my cuppa at 6am

and
I threw some of them into a large glass jar after seeing  something similar on
Vicki's blog don't they look pretty?
the little cream poinsettia is still flourishing
so I'm hoping it keeps going for another couple of weeks
and of course it is nice to sit down and enjoy candlelight
and a glass of the red stuff occasionally
But I have been out for a few walks over the last week and can honestly say I feel better for them.
I took these two scallywags with me...
Oscar loves it but Charlie is a bit lazy (a bit like myself) but he could do with losing a few pounds too!

Buys this week...
No further knitting done  (oopsie)!!
but I did buy this lovely magazine which cost less than 2 euro
and which included a free set of knitting needles and 2 balls of wool
now that's good value!!
So you never know maybe next week I will have produced something!!

and while out and about I saw this dress (I love the colours)
it was 27 euro in Carraig Donn and the boots were less than 70 euro in Clarks
I will get lots of wear from both of them so happy days!

and so it's Friday and therefore
it's Green Day

The usual rules apply...
Thank you to all who participate I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do

You're an early bird, Fiona! I'm just smiling at your Live Traffic Feed showing that I'm a visitor from Vevey! Those things never seem to get the places right, do they?! I feel a bit spied upon actually! I'm glad it can't tell where I'm writing from!
That knitting magazine with wool and needles was an incredible buy!
I love your cream poinsettia plant.
Nice Christmas lights still giving a warm and friendly atmosphere in your home, despite the cold and frost outside!

Good Morning Fiona, What a beautiful photo of the frost outside. Just right for a brisk walk.
Love the lights around your kitchen unit. Do you know I have kept lights up around my kitchen, like you to give a sense of brightness, as the days are so grey and the kitchen seems so dark.
I saw the knit and stitch book advertised on tv and thought it was a bargain and I am going to buy a copy over the weekend.
Love your boots, smart with skirts or trousers.
Sorry I have nothing green to post, unless you count the odd bit of cucumber in a salad!
Have a lovely week.
Best Wishes
Daphne

Love your pictures... I need to take down my Christmas stuff but just can't... I love Christmas and everything about it. Maybe I should leave some lights up for awhile and take them down slowly.

Charlie is so pretty. Like the lights in the jar. I keep my lights out all year around the house. It makes it cozy in here, especially for a party..

Photos of a frosty morning, twinkle lights while you drink your cuppo, scraggly doggie with sweet face, pretty new dress and fancy boots . . . brought me a smile to this new day/morning.

Happy Friday and sweet weekend Fiona.

Love the fairy lights still glowing in the early morning or evening! Those new boots are beautiful. I wonder what 70 euros translates into Canadian $$? Have a lovely weekend. Blessings, Pamela

I think I would enjoy my coffee in your beautiful kitchen with all the pretty things to look at and the glow of the fairy lights (perhaps you meant to write "poinsettia" for the plant). As for knitting, my needles have been inactive of late! This weekend, I tell myself. Have a wonderful one, Fiona.

I really like the twinkle lights! We still have some up as well (and thinking we might just leave them)

I don't have a Green Day link up, as I'm no longer using the blog "Life On Our Mountain" and blogging on a more personal blog now, but I do enjoy coming over and visiting you Fiona. You always have the loveliest photos and stories. :)

Hi Fiona. Lovely post today, and I love the photo of the frosty morning and the evening sky. How beautiful! It's amazing, but quite a few bloggers seem to have left a few fairy lights up this year. I've kept a string around the fireplace, and they really do brighten my day. Take care.

Hi Fiona,
I'm here for Green Day at last. It seems like ages since the last time I took part.
I love your first green shot but it looks a tad cold out there. Your doggy is so cute such a lovely face. I did see that knitting magazine for sale it does seem like a good buy.
If you are going to get cold weather like we are I hope you manage to stay warm.
Have a good weekend :)

Yet have to clean up the Christmas tree - I have the excuse that I'm running a deadline for my writings.
so your house looks like I feel:) Did not realize you lived in Europe! Am still Dutch, even though I lived 20+ years in Los Angeles.

I don't know the rules for Green Day and can't find them. Is this party for gardens only?

Have a beautiful weekend!

Podoba mi się pomysł w lampkami i szyszkami w szklanym pojemniku, wygląda to nastrojowo. Piesek może trochę leniwy, ale teraz zima i jemu też nie chce się za dużo na dworze przebywać.Wiosną nadrobi bieganie i schudnie. Pozdrawiam serdecznie.
I like the idea of lights and cones in a glass container, it looks romantic. The dog can get a little lazy, but now winter, and he does not want to be too much for the court to stay. Spring make up running and lose weight. Yours sincerely.

Hi Fiona,
My poinsettia has wilted :( and I took down my lights last week. I love the idea of putting them in a jar, maybe I will try it too.
Loved the second photo of the sunset and your pets are just darling.

Hi Fiona!
I'm back after a part choice part forced blog hiatus! The choice was for a short break to get my life in balance and then the computer died and it was forced. So now I'm feeling rather giddy running about to visit all my friends and catch up on news!

Fill me in on your green day and what it's all about?

As always, beautiful photos and I love your fairy lights!
Hugs~
