Flowers in the house....

I love to have fresh flowers in the house and think that the place looks bare without them.
I had some lovely white lilies last week and they lasted for about 10 days so I got great value out of them but at the weekend they were tired so  I needed something fresh to replace them.
I  went to the supermarket and I bought some lovely pink roses, they only cost €3 but when I brought them home they looked a little lost and lonely on their own.

I headed out into the garden to see what I could find, added a few bits and bobs and they looked completely different........

Do you enjoy having fresh flowers in the house and if so what are your favourites?

Hi Fiona, your flowers are so full and lovely. Yes I have to have flowers in the house, even if it's only a few daisies.
I am sorry, I am a little late with my replies, so if you don't mind I will respond to both of your lovely comments at once.
I hope you did have some champagne and dance on the table! I had some champagne and got a terrible headache! Pumpkin bread is an American speciality, very similar to carrot cake. It's made with oil and so the texture is quite spongey.
I'm sorry I made you hungry when you are trying to be good! It's like when I go on Pinterest, I usually go on late at night and there are loads of gorgeous looking cakes and desserts on there, it drives me nuts! Have a lovely week Fiona, love Linda x

I love to have flowers in the house but I don't get them very often. Recently though I got flowers from my Laura and also from Emma on my birthday. I love flowers that smell nice. I remember when I was wee that my dad used to grow sweetpeas and I loved them.

Hi Fiona. Hope you are well. Gosh, what a difference when you added your own garden flowers to the bouquet of pink roses. Looks lovely! I see that you have put some Japanese Anemones in there. Great idea!

Aren't you a nice addition to the party:)

You truly made those roses come alive.

I'll be back to visit after I clean up from the flower party.

I also love having flowers in the house. I live way out in the country so I usually grow them myself or find something pretty in the fields or woods. I love growing zinnias because they come in so many awesome colors and do well in my garden. This time of year I love to pick goldenrod to go with them. It makes such a great autumn bouquet. Your roses look lovely with the flowers you added. Very beautiful!

Your flowers are beautiful. I don't always have flowers in the house but every spring I'm sure to bring a bunch of lilacs in - their scent fills the house.

That's very nice! I have allergies, so I usually leave the flowers outside. Anyway, Dolly goes on the kitchen table, and might knock them over, and that's probably where I'd put them. Or, on the front windowsill, where both cats go.

Beautiful and I liked how you added your own blooms to the roses, what a pretty bouquet! No fresh flowers here currently; see lots on walks, but I'm not one to have them around unless it is a special occasion where someone gives me some. Love yours though!

Hello sweet Irish friend! I am knitting fingerless mitts in the round for my littlest girl. It is because I am knitting them in the round that I use all those needles, but I am a low-maintenance knitter and am easily confused, so I like it simple! I know you could make these - knitting mitts and mittens is so easy and is my favorite thing to knit. In Ireland, there is such a strong knitting tradition! You must see beautiful yarns up there with some of the prettiest patterns in the world!

Did you know that the one country I always wanted to see, since I was just a girl, is Ireland? xoxo

They're really quite beautiful! I would keep fresh flowers in the house if my cats didn't always try to eat them!

Fresh flowers really do make a room look nice. I am a plant killer and as much as I would love to have fresh flowers about, they'd die within hours.
