Comfort food and a shoulder to cry on....

for my darling daughter
who is a little sad today

Is it Italian mother's who feed their children lots of yummy food when they are out of sorts?

well.....

it must be Irish mums too
because I made her a cake
hoping to put a smile back on her face.

Tomorrow is another day my lovely....
♥♥♥

***anyone got a quick cure for a broken (bruised) heart?

Yummy! I think it's less about the comfort food and more about the love and caring that goes into the preparation -- the doing something special for someone you love. xoxo

Wenn bei solchem Schmaus nicht gleich die Sonne wieder im Gesicht leuchtet, nun ja, dann muss der Schmerz der Verstimmung sehr tief sitzen, aber das kann ich mir nicht denken...

Oh Fiona, that cake looks so scrummy! I'm sorry your daughter is feeling down, and I do hope that she will feel brighter again very soon. We feel helpless when our children feel miserable, don't we?! Hugs to you my friend.

What a lovely yummilicious dessert!Am sure your daughter must be all smiles by now :)

Fiona, thanks for coming by my blog. Am glad I stumbled upon yours. I used to participate in loads of memes earlier but crazy work schedules have eaten into my blogging time so badly I hardly ever get even to visit blogs, forget posting. But I am determined to change that somehow!

Nopes! We are reeling under a tremendously distressing heat wave at 44 degrees celcius! No sign of rains .just clouds that are making matters worse ...it is stiflingly hot and humid outside.

Could you please mail me some of that rain from Ireland:) ? My fur babies would love that very much..Thank you :)

Oh my Fiona, that looks delicious - if that doesn't cure a broken heart I'm not sure what will :))
I hope your daughter feels a bit more chipper real soon. I think it's hard on us mum's too. Give her a hug from me. :))

Looks like delicious comfort food. A broken bruised heart takes time to heal-but heal it will.

I hope this helps your daughter - she at least knows you love her!
And I blogged last week sometime - that my husband had a CT scan on Wed. and he was all clear - the doctor thought it was miraculous going away so fast. He was dismissed from his care. Love, sandie

This delicious looking cake is a good start towards feeling better. I would advise her to just think that everything happens for a reason. Every obstacle is there to show us that we need to change paths so as to get to a bettter destination. I always have these two things in mind; it sounds super cheesy but it helps! (a lot)

Aw Fiona, you're doing Mothers proud - such a beautiful comfort cake for your Darling. He's obviously not the right fish... many more out there, but, of course that's not what she wants to hear right now.

A little comfort food never hurt anyone, and kids just seem to be able to burn those calories off anyway. Me on the other hand not so much.
Happy July 4 to everyone and Id like to invite everyone to my post "Lancaster on 4 wheels part 2 this coming Thursday. Richard

This cake looks absolutely wonderful! Hope today is a better day for your darling daughter!

Thanks for your sweet visit. I am catching up today. It has been hectic for about three weeks for me now. A great blessing but busy.

Hope you have some dryer weather. It is raining here today but we need it. It has been 106 and better last week. This week has been just in the 90's and it feels like spring.

You are a sweet friend. Have a great day! Love your green party. I have to get off the computer or I would get busy and do a green post. Not sure how everyone does all they do.
