the party and the dress...

The party was lovely,
the sun shone and the dress fit
so happy days!
The shoes looked good
but after about 15 minutes
didn't feel so great,
 but I suffered on
as we women always do in the name of fashion (ouch ouch ouch!)

The gardens, food, drink and entertainment were wonderful
and lovely memories were made.

Here are a few photos from our day....

the house...

The marquee and seating area

view from the front of the house
(Dublin mountains in the distance)

daughter amongst the lavender

the walled gardens
the greenhouse

the tree that President Obama planted on his visit to Ireland last year

pretty table arrangements

 dress that almost didn't fit....

and...
a little secret I have to share -
at the end of the day,
my tootsies were so tired
that I took the  shoes off
Whew!!!

I'm wearing my flip flops since!!!

Wishing you all a healthy, happy week
full of
 sunshine, smiles and lovely things

What a lovely place for a celebration; the walled garden is exquisite. Both you and your daughter looked beautiful, and isn't it nice to kick off the shoes and wiggle your toes in the grass!

W pięknym miejscu była impreza. Córka i Ty wyglądałyście świetnie. "Klapki" z ostatniego zdjęcia są zdecydowanie najwygodniejsze. Pozdrawiam.
The event was a beautiful place. Daughter and you wyglądałyście great. "Flip" of the last pictures are definitely the most comfortable. Yours.

What a beautiful place for the party! Your daughter is lovely. Fun seeing you in the dress that almost didn't fit. I would have had the heels off and flip flops on in minutes. I can't wear heal anymore.
Have a wonderful week.

What a wonderful venue for your party. Your daughter and yourself look very lovely. New shoes are a real pain to wear for a night out aren't they? Hope you didn't get too many blisters.

Wow! What a beautiful venue for a party! What was the party for? And you, Fiona, look lovely in that dress!! 2 of our daughters got married a few months ago, and by the time the receptions were about 1/2 over...off came my shoes!! My feet hurt so much from scurrying around and tending to last minute details, that I didn't even care any more!! LOL!

Your daughter amongst the lavender is certainly a beauty, too!
Thanks so much for sharing!!
Hugs,
Becky

Hello Fiona
Many thanks for your comments on my last two posts....off on holiday.....nice one....where to???
Your comment about not being creative and having an uncreative blog has been turning itself over in my mind and I'm afraid I can't agree with you on that one. I urge you to go back into your own blog with a critical eye and look at the photos you take and then tell me again you're not creative.....you have to have a creative eye to take many of the photos you display on your blog. Creativeness doesn't come about because you make things it comes about in many different forms and sometimes the way you arrange a room or take a photo or make a cake is a display of creativeness....so sorry and beg to differ can't see the uncreativeness you comment on!!!
As for crafts......do you not do any due to lack of knowledge or lack of inclination? if its due to lack of knowledge I've a Crochet for beginners e-book,some yarn and a big fat crochet hook waiting here for you that I will be delighted to send to you to get you started if you like. :-)

Take care now

Hello Fiona, I had to laugh about your shoes as I've done the same when I was quite a bit younger and wearing ridiculous heels! Nice to see you and your daughter - it's always lovely to see the person we've been reading for a while. What's that song that goes: "In Dublin's fair city, where the maids are so pretty..."? I'm planning on going to lovely Ireland one day! You were in a beautiful setting and I just love walled gardens! Sandra

Haha, you always a sense of humor, I have hallux valgus and sometimes it is hurt if I wear high heals long.

I have what I think is the same dress, or a close copy. You look lovely in it. I would never have worn the heels. I gave given them up for flats years ago. Not worth the pain I would have.

This is such an beautiful setting for a party. I'm sure you had a wonderful time.

Lovely setting. I understand the shoe thing. I gave up heels awhile ago however sometimes you just have too. They only last minutes though! You look gorgeous, by the way!
