Friday 14 December 2012

Well hello my friends
I have borrowed teenager Raindrop's laptop so that I can do a quick post
I am sorry that I have not been visiting you
but
I am hoping to get a new laptop as mine is now completely banjaxed
and so fingers crossed I will be back in action again soon...

The weather here has been cold cold cold
those roads are ICY
I  hope that they improve as my nerves are shattered driving on them!

But when the ice melts the days are beautiful, cold, frosty and clear.
I went on a long hike with lovely daughter across the Curragh Plains
it took almost 3 hours but it was just wonderful

not so wonderful the next day
when I could barely walk, had aches and pains all over
and had a stride like John Wayne's
my bottom and legs were sore for 2 days!!!

House and Home...
Planted some hyacinths around 2 weeks ago, the pot was pretty so fingers crossed that they grow!!

also treated myself to two lovely Cath Kidson mugs
they are so pretty and dainty
the tea definitely tastes better from them!!!

I'm still knitting but this time it is taking forever
might be finished by Summer....
Well I know from reading your blogs
that you are all busy decorating your homes for Christmas
I bought some of these pretty decorations
I have far too many now but sure it's a time of excess
 so I suppose it's ok!

The crib is probably my favourite thing at Christmas.
My crib was given to me by my Granny on my 1st birthday
it is probably an antique as it is so old
but it is very special.

Years of my brother and I playing with the figures
and my own children playing with them too
have resulted in chipped faces!!

Well it's Friday and so it's {Green Day 26}

The usual rules apply...
Thank you to all who participate I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do

So nice to see you back in blogland again, Fiona! I missed not being able to pop in and say hello!
Now I can't see your pictures to comment on them, but I remember liking the shot of the sheep seeming to form a sort of pattern and a beautiful big tree! I liked your Nativity scenes, both the old and the new. It's so lovely when some of these things date back to our childhood.
It snowed here again in the night, but the temperatures will be rising again over the next few days.
Have a lovely weekend! Sandra

Hi Fiona,

It's nice to see you :) It's finally Friday again, wish the weather could be a bit better though, winds and rain out. Not nice knowing you have to get out in it shortly. Hope you'll have a lovely weekend. I like the pictures, and the decorations looks beautiful.
Hugs,
Eva

I am sure that you have found it really frustrating being unable to use your blog. Computers when they work are great.
You have captured the essence of the countryside beautifully - this year the winter has been particularly lovely with lots of low sky sunshine to enjoy.

Spacer był męczący, ale warto z pewnością było. życzę otrzymania laptopa, żebyś była z nami na bieżąco. Pięknie będziesz miała ozdobiony dom na Święta. Pozdrawiam.
The walk was tiring, but it was certainly worth it. I wish you receive your laptop, you were with us on a regular basis. Beautifully decorated home will have for Christmas. Yours.

We become so attached to our computers and being connected that we feel bereft when we don't have them!

Lovely post -- that's the thing about a great, long walk -- it feels so good while you are doing it...until the next day...but I'll wager you'd say it was worth the stiffness and soreness.

As for holiday decor/ornaments and decorating...I'm always buying new things...it's part of the joy!!

Have a lovely week Fiona! xo

Hi Fiona. Lovely to see you here, and I'm sorry I'm getting a bit behind with my reading again! What lovely photos - I loved the one of all the sheep. I just love those dry, crisp, cold days - so much better than the dreary rain. Your decorations are adorable, especially the crib, especially as it has such a sentimental value for you. Take care and hope to see you again before too Long!! x

Hello Fiona, Sorry I have not been leaving comments the past couple of weeks, but our daughter came to stay, which was wonderful. Then sadly George's aunt passed away, so we have been staying with his mum as she is very upset.

Last time you mentioned you had been to a Cath Kidson shop, I had said I had never been in one. Well, how fabulous, a shop has opened here and Natasha and I went in to see what it was like. We fell in love with everything. We bought a few things and had to restrain ourselves as our debit cards would have gone into melt down.
I love hyacinths, when they flower the perfume is so beautiful.
Think of all the calories you burnt when you walked your three miles....enough to enjoy a bar of chocolate without worrying!
Have a lovely week. Best Wishes Daphne

Hello Fiona. We found you through Daphne Bryson's lovely blog, Ivy Phyllis and Me. Your countryside is so beautiful. The photos are suitable for framing! Love those sheep and the tree especially. Your crib is just darling and missing paint just makes it more charming. How special that your Granny gave it to you. We call it a Nativity but I am going to start calling mine a crib. It's really about the Baby anyway.

Have a beautiful blessed day and please visit The French Hen's Nest

Hello, Fiona

I thought you were down for the count, computer-wise, and missed this post. I love seeing your photos, like the glorious tree, and there is just something so appealing about sheep! Your knitting is looking great too, beautiful colours.

I wanted to wish you a Happy New Year. I hope 2013 holds wonderful things in store for you.
