Today was dull, grey, cloudy and windy
basicially typical Irish weather
I was feeling sad and teary because of 9/11
so we decided to brave the elements
and go for a little walk.
Oh dear look at those grey skies!
We didn't want to go too far so headed here
I love this lane and the trees are beautiful
St. Brigid is looking lovely as usual
This well is reputedly a 'healing well',
one of many in Ireland.
It is still a popular place of pilgrimage
where healing liturgies are often held.
The water is crystal clear
The Well is a very spiritual place
and people come here everyday to pray
Here are some of the Stations of the Cross
We stopped, had a moments silence and said a prayer for all those killed on this day 10 years ago in the United States.
I needed that.
Then we headed for home.

Oh, Fiona.....How I wish I had know about this special place when I made my visits to Ireland. I love my crosses here at the house, but I would have given anything to ave visited this site. Our weather has been horrible as well -perhaps fitting to this sad anniversary (and on a personal note, yesterday was the 15th anniversary of my Mum's death)
But life goes on, and to look on the bright side... congrats on being in the collage of this week's shadow shot Sunday!!

You have a lovely blog. I read the entire thing and just loved it. I, too, am a fan of "The Quiet Man". My father resembled John Wayne physically in many ways. They died within six days of each other in June 1979. Weird, huh?
