Wet and Windy Monday

Decided to make a brack so the fruit was left steeping in a bowl overnight

It ends up lovely, swollen, juicy and sooo moist

These paper cases are fantastic, save all the work of lining the tins

I got to use  my new silicone bakeware

A slice with "real" butter and a cuppa
 YUMMY

and now I have dressed up as a witch, blue wig and all and am awaiting my little Halloween callers!!

Have a lovely Halloween my friends x

Fiona, you make a lovely looking witch. I had never hear of brack, although I thought it must be some kind of bread. So I looked up the meaning and see that it is an Irish Halloween tradition. Wish I could come have a slice with you.
Happy Halloween, Barb

Mmmm your brack looks lovely, just great with a cup of tea. Have you got a recipe for that?

Fiona, just got your lovely comments, thankyou, you are such a sweetheart! I am really touched by your kind words. Paul will be home tomorrow night, his mum has Dementia, and he and his siblings take it in turn to stay with her. She isn't doing too badly at the moment, but it is a strain on all the family.

Lois had a great time, out tick or treating and has come in absolutely frozen stiff, but with a smile from ear to ear! Hope you are having a great time and the wine is flowing! Love Linda x

You are a mighty fine, (and pretty) witch.
Thank you for your nice comments on my blog. I like visiting you as well.

You should write your recipe for brack. It must be similar to what we call fruit cake. Not sure. I love hearing cuppa and other expressions you use that is used in your area. I guess when I say y'all you probably think- what is she talking about!

I have a silicon muffin pan and enjoy it. We actually wore another one out and had to throw it away.

I just looked at your last post which I enjoyed and remember your list of things you enjoy. I like things like that. You know, I enjoy all the things on your list too. I didn't see a comment from me so either I hit the button and it went away or I was reading late and tired. Sometimes you just give out and plan to come back the next day and life gets in the way. I always enjoy hearing from you.

I have never had BRACK. If it's a Halloween tradition I'm simply going to have to add it to my celebration next year. The silicone bakeware
is very interesting. I'll have to see if they sell it here. I must tell you that your costume is divine. You look positively BEWITCHING. Take care. Hope you had a Happy Halloween.
